Is Your Jewelry Hypoallergenic?

Yes, our earrings are considered hypoallergenic. We primarily use 316L stainless steel for posts and hooks. Occasionally, we incorporate gold-plated components, both of which are suitable for sensitive ears. Additionally, most of our stud earrings can be upgraded to titanium for an extra fee. The specific metal components used are detailed in each product listing.

However, if your skin is highly sensitive to nickel, please don’t choose stainless steel or gold-plated jewelry or ask me about an upgrade to titanium, which doesn’t contains nickel. All stainless steel and gold-plated jewelry technically have trace amounts of nickel, but it's such a small amount that it doesn't affect most people. If you have a known nickel allergy, exercise caution when using products made from 316L stainless steel, as even trace amounts can trigger irritation or discomfort. Always consult with a healthcare professional if you are concerned about potential reactions.

Gold-plated jewelry is made by coating a base metal, such as brass or copper, with a thin layer of gold. While it offers the appearance of solid gold at a more affordable price, it may not be the best choice for individuals with highly sensitive ears. The base metal beneath the gold layer can sometimes react with the skin, causing irritation or allergic reactions. Over time, as the gold plating wears off, the exposed base metal may further aggravate sensitivity. For those with highly sensitive ears, it’s recommended to opt for materials like titanium or solid gold to minimize the risk of discomfort.
